Ivory Coast Hires a Homer (Francois Zahoui)

Blessed with all the talent an international squad could ever need, the west African nation has struggled to capitalize on all its on paper prowess under foreign coaches. With the failure of the last world cup Ivory coast turns to a homer for the next step and guidance to prominence on the African continent.
Constant bickering by fans and outsiders suggested that african teams needed african coaches who understand the culture and the players in order to succeed, Ivory Coast took the first step towards that by hiring Francois Zahoui

Zahoui, a former Ivorian international, was caretaker coach for the team's 1-0 win over the former world champions Italy in London this month.

Zahoui, 48, has limited coaching experience. He has coached the Ivorians' Under-20 national side and was briefly at the Abidjan club Africa Sports, as well as Toulon in France. His last job was as technical director at the French amateur club FC Seynois. (Associated press)
